About the ProjectThe Association "Les Enfants de Dieu" owns and runs a residential care centre in Ndera, a suburb of Kigali located near the international airport. The centre is situated on over four hectares of land. At present we look after 120 former street boys aged between 7 and 18. Our facilities include: Dormitory – spread over two floors, can accommodate up to 150 children Office Block – staff offices, volunteer room, counselling room and infirmary section Infirmary – dispensary, special care room Multi-purpose hall – includes dining facilities Kitchen – with two fuel-efficient stoves and storage (attached to the hall) Storeroom – location of all our donations (clothes, sports equipment, school supplies) Library – over 4000 books in various categories, art supplies, games; tables and benches Classrooms – blackboards, desks and chairs Playground – grass area and cement basketball court Agricultural Land Fish Pond We employ 19 staff including teachers, a nurse, a counselor, social workers, night watchmen, cooks, an operations coordinator and a project manager. We uphold that every child is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in the Declaration of Human Rights 'without distinctions of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or status'. We have been registered as a local non-profit association in Rwanda since 2002. The association is the legal owner of the facilities funded by the donors. About | Strategy | Approach |
